Receptivity is Fun

Bringing greater presence, trust, and wonder to your life through relational movement

The 3-Step method

  1. Active Discernment
Your safe space to practice saying and hearing “No,” where you will always receive a supportive response that honors you for taking care of yourself. Builds confidence in your boundaries during our sessions and in your daily life, creating a foundation for your authentic “Yes.”

  2. Embodied Trust
Be led in a short, gentle yoga practice with nurturing hands-on touch on your back, building the muscle memory that recognizes the safe container already present within you.

  3. Expanded Capacity
This is where we bring in the wisdom of partner dance connection tools. Experience gentle movement cues on your hand, shoulder, or back using simple walking instead of choreography. Bypassing the need to plan or guess your next step, you get to practice responding to spontaneous cues with total presence. It is entirely normal to feel nervous at first, and we have opportunities for you to share how you’re feeling (if you like.) As it feels like a “Yes” for you to proceed, you open the door to deeper trust by safely allowing yourself to be receptive to the cue. Here, discover the value of what your authentic responses bring, naturally guiding you into your breath, core safety, and unexpected bursts of laughter and joy. An added gift often shared is the centered, connected feeling of being a part of All that is. This physical memory stays with you, bringing an immediate sense of lightness to your body that carries through your day and anchors your well-being long-term.

This workshop is a fun, light invitation to spend 90 minutes experiencing receptivity, which is another way of saying “not knowing what is going to happen.” What could be waiting here for you to discover?

Inspired by the structural wisdom of partner dancing, this session focuses entirely on the internal states of presence, trust and availability. While movement-based, this requires minimal exertion and is not a yoga or dance class.

Practicing Receptivity

Sourcing our power from the infinite field rather than individual effort

There is a reason we feel relaxed while watching the ocean. Or while watching the leaves blowing in the breeze. It is because we are witnessing something being moved to move.

Imagine a wave separating from the ocean and trying to move itself. Now, imagine that wave becoming available to the energy of the ocean animating it.

This visual outlines two distinct differences in how we can feel as we move through our day. While a wave is incredibly powerful, it isn’t "trying." It is simply receptive to the energy animating it. The intensity we see isn't the result of individualized exertion; it is the result of receiving a current that is already in motion.

And yet, we so often do the opposite. We try to generate and exert our own effort, fueled only by our limited willpower.

This workshop is an invitation to shift your source. We explore how to trade the stress of individual exertion for the skill of becoming a conduit for a field of power that is always available. Could receiving energy from this infinite well offer you more vitality than trying to generate it on your own?

Led by Laura Singer, Catalyst for Availability, we explore what becomes available when we become receptive to this current of “the field.” While the inspiration for this practice comes from the art of “following” in partner dance, this is not a dance class. It is a session focused on the internal state of presence and trust.

Our bodies have muscle memory. When we practice being a conduit for this energy, our system can remember that ease and vitality for the rest of our day.

Could it feel supportive to spend 90 minutes with 11 new friends experiencing this shift in a very low stakes way?

Come and find out.

(Note: Each activity is demonstrated first. Participation is always your choice; you are also welcome to simply observe.)

Inside the Field: The philosophy and mechanics of our movement

Practicing Receptivity

YOU ARE A CONDUIT FOR UNIVERSAL ENERGY

What This Is

We often think of self-awareness as something that happens in stillness. But how does that awareness expand when you are in motion? Practicing Receptivity is a rare space to gather real-time physical wisdom. Here, we shift from "moving from the head" to a state of Availability.

Inspired by the value I’ve found in the art of partner dancing, this is a session focused on the internal state of presence and trust. While movement-based, this is not a yoga or dance class.

The Experience: Moving as Dialogue

In this lab, your body is the messenger and the compass. We use gentle cueing in movement to mirror your inner state and explore:

  • The Power of Listening: Can you receive a movement without needing to "perform" or "get it right"?

  • The Clarity of Leading: How does it feel to offer a cue from a place of steady, grounded ease rather than needing to control the situation?

  • The Mind-Body Mirror: We look for the "data" in the body, a softening jaw or a deep breath, as markers of your presence surfacing.

Who This Is For

This is for the self-aware mover who wants a safe container to explore how their body responds to the unknown. Whether you are a "dancer" or just someone navigating the "dance of life," this lab helps you stop trying so hard and start noticing.

FAQ

Do I need a partner?
No. In our public workshops, we rotate partners after each activity. This keeps the energy light and low-stakes, allowing you to stay available to the flow of the room. It is a beautiful way to experience the unique current of all 11 friends in our circle.

Can I book a private session?
Yes. In a private session, we can tailor the experience to your specific needs. I can act as your partner, or you are welcome to bring someone to explore your shared dynamics together. This is also a wonderful experience to book for a small group of friends.

What if I’m nervous?
Nervousness is a great place to start. We always move at a pace that feels supportive and safe. I will always demonstrate what we are doing beforehand and if you don’t feel like participating, you are welcome to just watch.

Will I have to talk?
Only if you want to. Sometimes the most profound discoveries are the ones you quietly keep for yourself.
