The Vision & The Facilitator
AN INVITATION TO PRESENCE
My intention is to be an available presence that invites the felt sense of what is wanting to come alive within you to wake up. As Catalyst for Availability, I offer invitations that open a doorway for you to see: where are you blocking life energy? And where, if you felt supported, might you soften to become receptive to this field of universal energy that is around and within us at all times?
PRACTICES TO EXPERIENCE AN EMBODIED SENSE OF TRUST
When safety moves from an idea into an embodied sense of trust, this allows you to relax into the present, expanding your awareness to perceive a wider experience of the support, nourishment, and life that is available to you in each moment.
WISDOM I FOUND ON THE DANCE FLOOR
This interest first began 23 years ago (when I was 23) at The Hollywood Dance Center in Los Angeles. It was there I trained with Michael Kuka, professional dancer, Arthur Murray trained instructor, and founder of the Ballroom Dance Academy, and Miranda Garrison, co-choreographer and actor/dancer in the movie Dirty Dancing.
On that partner dance floor, I learned that 'following' isn’t passive, but rather an active practice of presence, of being available to the newness of the moment.
My joy became going out dancing at the local salsa, swing, and blues clubs. Nothing thrilled me more than dancing with the best leads where I was challenged to be fully present to even the faintest cues. It was in those subtlest moments where I was twirled through exciting new moves, brand new to me, only able to follow because I was attuned to the energy of the connection.
This is where I learned that assuming is what kills connection. If I am on the dance floor and I "guess" what my lead is going to do, 99 times out of 100 I will guess wrong and create resistance. Just like in a conversation (which is simply another form of dance), if we assume what someone is saying without truly listening, the connection breaks down before it even starts.
So my exploration became: How can I maintain my frame, breathing, and presence while deeply listening with my whole body? And what is available for me in this?
What opened up for me was total delight, joy, embodied lightness, and freedom. It may sound strange that freedom came from giving up control and allowing myself to follow, but a clear lead acts like a supportive container. Think of a riverbed and a river: without a riverbed, the water would have to spend its own energy trying to form a path, or it would just spill out and scatter. A solid riverbed frees the river to simply flow.
Eventually, this shifted into a deeply spiritual experience. I began to see God as my ultimate lead, and myself as the follow. My daily intention became: God, show me how I can be available to receive and reveal the wonder that is You.
Dancing with another person helped me see that I am becoming receptive to more support than what was just within me. I am allowing myself to become available to this greater energy animating both my partner and myself. My partner gets to guide this energy and I get to be enlivened by it, continuing to reveal God and the Universe (uni-verse, one song) through my being available to connect, trust, receive, and allow.
I was so diligent with my training that when my instructor left to dance on a cruise ship for six months, he asked me to take over and teach his Bronze Level 1 and 2 classes. Teaching those classes sparked a massive epiphany: these incredible tools of partner connection were far too valuable to be kept only for classical dancers. In that moment, I made a vow. I knew that one day I would bring these exact tools to couples and to women who (like myself) longed for, but perhaps struggled to experience, support, wonder and trust, both within themselves and in connection with others.
It’s one thing to want to be able to be delighted in mind and body by the newness of the moment as it is unfolding, in life and in relationship, and it’s another to physically be able to experience it. That’s what I realized — I was, and I imagine so many of us are carrying this internal baggage of gripping, out of protection, protection we most likely needed at some point in our lives. But what I realized for myself, is that I was still carrying it and using it to block others, and life out, even when I mentally was wanting to let it go.
The practice became: How do I feel safe to let the gripping go, and let life in, and why might I want to?
AN AWAKENING THROUGH DIAGNOSIS
My commitment to this work shifted from a curiosity to a calling in 2022 following a diagnosis of seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis. I saw it as a profound invitation to stop the "performing," (the million tiny, daily habits of staying rigid, masking my true feelings and hiding out of a deep fear of being truly seen or showing vulnerability), stop over-extending to burnout and finally start listening. By prioritizing my energy and healing holistically across mind, body, and spirit, I began a journey of small, intentional choices that still continue to this day.
THE LIVED ROADMAP TO VITALITY
Now in 2026, those choices have led to a life where my symptoms have drastically reduced, often disappearing entirely. What I offer is the lived roadmap of my own recovery, sharing these practices to guide others back to their own vitality. It is an absolute honor to hold space for this natural state of being, remembering through presence that we are all connected to All that is.
With care,
Laura Singer
